New faces and NOT so great places...

Christmas shopping: sounds fun right? Wrong! Trying to Christmas shop in the Midland mall is a J.O.K.E! I thought Patrick and I could go there and knock out all of the shopping that needed to be done but I was sadly mistaken. Lets just say the ONLY good store in that mall is Victoria Secret. I guess this could be a good thing since I obviously won't be shopping in this town. A tear almost came to my eye when I realized they didn't even have a MACY'S! What town doesn't have a Macy's! There is only ONE store in this town that I shop at for clothes and that would be Target. There is not even a Marshalls or TJ Maxx how sad is that! Lets just say I think online shopping may just become my new best friend. On a brighter note they do have a Best Buy and Patrick and I are going there today to get my Christmas present....a new Nikon dslr camera! YAY! Also there is this AWESOME Christmas stored here called Miss Cayce's Christmas store and I could freaking go nuts in that store and I am pretty sure my mom might die if she were to walk in. The stuff they have in there is gorgeous but unfortunately some of the stuff in there is OUTRAGEOUSLY priced. We did happen to find an ornament there for our tree, so we now have ONE ornament on our tree! :) And I am pretty sure that is the only ornament our tree is going to see this year. We even had them put Midland 2011 on the back. :)

Okay enough about shopping. Last night Patrick and I went to go have dinner with our friend Andrew, his girlfriend Kirsten and a couple of their friends. I actually liked Kirsten and Kelsy a lot. Look at me making friends here in Midland! Wahoo! We all went to this amazingly good restaurant called The Garlic Press. Patrick and I both had mouth watering steaks mine with a garlic herb sauce and Patrick had his with a lobster sauce on it. They were sooooo good! AND we even had a really really good bottle of wine to go with it. The wine we got was called the Frank Family...and me being the smart intelligent person that I am saw that they had Frank Family Chardonnay on the wine list and I immediately was like YES I want this wine, so I asked the waitress if they had a red and she brought us a Merlot. WELL if I MUST say after having a glass of that really really good wine I asked Patrick to see how much it was. We grabbed the wine list and took a look through it finally coming across the wine we picked out and lets just say our jaws droppppeedddd. That really reallyyyy good bottle of wine just cost us more than our two steaks totaling a small fee of.... (drum roll please)

EIGHTY FREAKING DOLLARS! You only live once right? And money is money we will make more. We just looked at this $200 dollar dinner as a celebration of me moving to Midland. :)

Here we are enjoying our wine :)

After we finished up dinner we went to cigar and wine bar next door called The Hemmingway.

We were all sitting around the table outside having a good time when Andrew and Kirsten see a man walk in the door and start freaking out. Who would have thought Midland would bring in celebrities. I don't know if you watch Sons of Anarchy (I know I don't) but Ron Perlman the guy who plays Clay walked in. So of course everyone and their mom wanted a picture with him...including Patrick
