Picture Day!

Today was my FIRST group picture with my class! It was so exciting and all of my kids were dressed so cute! Well the majority of them. We had a few that their parents must have forgotten it was picture day! Friday the picture money was due and I am mad that I forgot because now I won't have a picture of my first class for myself! :( Lets just hope that our class picture doesn't turn out like this one...

Ruidoso!

I'm back! 

We had a a nice 4 day vacation with great friends Ruidoso, New Mexico! I am so glad that our friends and some family were able to go skiing with us this past weekend. We all had a blast! I think the best part of our trip was witnessing all of the falls. Sara almost made me pee my pants multiple times because she is careless and has no fear! I would say she fell the most! Patrick by far had the best fall though but luckily did not get hurt. I had a pretty rough fall while we were tubing. And when I say rough I mean terrible! I went flying over the ledge and did a flip/cartwheel hurting my shoulder and knee. For a minute I didn't even think I was able to walk, but I was a trooper and got up and even skied the following day! Luckily I didn't end up really hurting myself, but I have decided that I will NEVER go tubing again! I am so glad that we were able to go and I am looking forward to our trip again next year!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! 

I had a really good day despite the fact that I can almost completely not talk anymore! Ever since I started getting sick on Saturday my voice has slowlyyyyy been fading away. There were times I couldn't even keep the kids under control today because they couldn't hear me! And then trying to yell didn't really do my voice justice either! Let's just hope that I will be able to talk tomorrow, because if it keeps going at the rate it is I will be MUTE! AHHH!! 

I absolutely love being a teacher especially on days like Valentine's Day! I was able to make all of my kids Valentine's bags, and it was so cute helping them pass them out. The way they get so excited over the small things just fills my heart with joy!

I would have to say that being a teacher sure does have its perks! We of course had our Valentine's party today at the end of class full of junk food and candy such as pizza, TONS of cookies, varieties of chips and dips and tons and tons of candy! While we were having our party the kids gave us gifts! If you think the smiles on their faces from getting something for themselves is cute you should just see the extremely happy faces they have when they give you something! Melts my <3! 

My favorite part was the chocolate covered strawberries!! YUMMY!

Since I was sick all weekend and didn't really have the chance to blog, so I thought I would share with you guys just how thoughtful my amazing fiance is! Saturday night after a very long day of work Patrick dropped by the store on the way home and picked these things up for me...

When I came out of the room on Sunday I found this sitting in the living room. Typical guy... doesn't care (or even realize) that the dryer rack is UPSIDE DOWN! Men...

Feeling under the weather...

Three days of working with those little munchkins and I am already sick! I couldn't sleep at all last night due to a pounding headache and an achy body. Pat tried to take care of me as well as he could this morning and I loved that, but what I wanted most was of course my mom! :( Moms are the always  best remedy! 

Now all I need to do is get better so that I can play in the snow tomorrow! Yup that's right it is supposed to snow here tomorrow! Even though I am already getting over this winter season I can never get tired of seeing snow!

oh the things kids say...

I love nothing more than listening to what children have to say, because they sure do say the darndest things! So today we were having lunch and this one little African American girl next to me started talking about Martin Luther King Jr. Well I about died laughing when she said "Martin Luther King didn't get to go to Chuck E. Cheese's for his birthday because he's black, and only white people could go to Chuck E Cheese's." Where did she come up with that!?

Then we had a little boy who never really ever talks burst out with "I'm sexy and I know it!" Some kids laughed at him and some wanted to get him in trouble for saying a "bad" (sexy) word. How can you yell at a kid when he busts out in that song! Thats right, you can't! Luckily I have four more months to work with these kids, so you can be sure that you will be hearing more of these funny moments!

1st Day of School

Sorry to disappoint you mom but I forgot to take my first day of school picture holding my lunchbox. No worries though I will have many more first days to come! 

Anyways my first day went great! Luckily I got put into a well behaved class. All of the kids are so cute and I already have favorites even though I probably shouldn't! As much as I may like my new job there is one thing I sure do HATE about it. Getting up early. I have gotten so used to waking up at 10:30-11 everyday that when 6:15 hit this morning I about cried. It is really sad that it is 6:55 at night right now and I keep taking breaks while I write this because I am so tired. I am pretty sure I could go to sleep right now. Pathetic. A perk about having this job is that I get off at 3:30! I love getting out that early! I even hit the gym after work! I also got really great news today! February 20th is a teacher in service day which means... I don't have to work! How great is that! And then before long spring break will be here! Hollaaaa!

okay, I am off to eat my smores! yummmyyyy!

We are going to MEXICO!! 

We just booked our summer trip to go to The Royal Playa del Carmen in June, and we are lucky enough to have Ryan and Sara joining us! I could not be more excited! An all inclusive for 5 days 4 nights...doesn't get much better than that! Bring on the cerveza and the sun! 

No one needs a vacation more than the person that just had one! :) 

ITS OFFICIAL!

So for those of you who do not already know I FINALLY got a JOB!! WAHOO!! Yesterday I went and observed the Pre-K class and LOVED it! The children were all so cute and sweet. I love that they want to tell you anything and everything no matter what it is about! And what I love the most is all of the hugs that you receive throughout the day! Sad part about getting a job is that I only have a couple more days of sleeping in. Getting up at 6 on Monday is NOT going to be easy. So from now on all of you may call me...
