It's almost here!

We are FOUR days away from our big day and I could not be more excited! Still have a ton of stuff to do, but I can't wait to get home tomorrow and enjoy my much needed time off!!

After three weeks of working I have FINALLY caught up on everything I need to do. After late nights and working weekends I am so glad I can finally relax. Being a first grade teacher isn't all it is cracked up to be. There is so much freaking stuff to do and too many damn papers to grade. But I do enjoy it... When my kids have a good day. Being the new teacher to be added, the other teachers divided up their classes and pretty much gave me the crazy behavior problem kids! But it is getting better it just takes a lot of discipline an many trips to the office :)

I have pretty much finished my decorating my classroom, so I thought I would share some pictures with ya!
Hope you enjoy!

Also my room mom decorated my door for me... Mrs. Millers class :)

Today was a first

First funny story of the year about my kids...

Today after lunch all of the kids were sitting on the carpet waiting to go to the bathroom while I called on them one by one. Well the kids that were waiting in line were complaining that the one in the bathroom was taking too long. So I cracked the door open to find a little boy doing exactly this...

I freaked out and said "are you pooping?" He looked up at me so frightened so I quickly shut the door. I had NO clue what to do. I didn't realize that you LITERALLY have to explain everything to these kids including that you ONLY go number 2 in the big potty. While I was thinking of what to do I hear the toilet flushing MULTIPLE times. I opened the door to see the urinal over flowing onto the floor!! I ran so fast to get a janitor and when I came back there was water on the floor and no water in the toilet... only a little turd looking up at me! GROSS. Poor janitor lady tried to get a plunger to get it out and that didn't work, so she had to put a glove on and pick it up. Yuck!!!!

We quickly explained to the whole class afterwards that we poop in the girls potty. I hope to never have to experience that again. Not the best thing to witness right after you eat lunch.

First day of school

This is all I have to say...

1. LOUD
2. Out of control
3. VERY unorganized
4. Teacher was not prepared
5. Teacher did not implement discipline
6. Exhausting

All I can do is hope that tomorrow goes better and that the teacher has learned from today and gets her sh*t together.

**When I say teacher I am not talking about myself of course :)

Is it too soon to quit?

Our new bedding/Meet the teacher

We FINALLY got our Euro shams in today so we were able to make our new bedding look complete! We also added the rod iron over the bed and the bedside lamp! :)

So onto meet the teacher...I finally completed our classroom with NO help at all and it looks pretty darn good if you ask me! Today I actually had the chance to spend the entire day with my teacher and she's actually pretty nice she is just really REALLY weird. She is from Idaho and has this really annoying accent and her laugh is extremely annoying. But other than that and her not willing to take any of my advice she's not that bad. In our classroom we have 14 boys and 6 girls! I am going to go insane with that many boys! We taped paper in front of all our centers so they couldn't have access to the toys and some kids (the wild ones) took it upon themselves to lift up the paper and pull stuff out. And when I watched them I saw that their parents were watching them do it! Awesome parenting. So if these kids are able to get away with anything I am definitely not looking forward to the first few weeks. There is going to be A LOT of discipline I can tell! I already found my favorite kid so far :) and its a little girl and she was just too cute! When I asked her if I could take her picture she shook her head and then I said smile and she immediately put her hands on her hip tilted her head and gave me a big smile! LOVE IT! Now hopefully she stays my favorite and doesn't become the really cute adorable little girl that throws the biggest fits, because then she won't be my favorite!

Our last day of the cleanse is TOMORROW!! WAHOO! And we CANNOT wait to go eat some Mexican food! Ole!

My test can't come fast enough!

I can't wait to take my test so can get my own classroom! I very much dislike my new teacher right now. Since she is in training's all this week she has left me to do all of the dirty work! My old teacher and I at the end of last year cleaned out all of the cabinets and put everything nicely back in a good order. Well when I got to school this year I saw that the new teacher had taken EVERYTHING out of EVERY cabinet and drawer and put it on the floor in the middle of the room. My mouth dropped when I saw this on Friday. And to top it all of off all of the paper work that I needed and that I had on my shelf over by my desk she threw away. Awesome.

When I got to work yesterday before she left to go to her training she told me everything she would like for me to do. Which pretty much consists of literally EVERYTHING! She had a pile of buckets and tubs on the floor that she wanted me to clean out and when I looked at them I said to her "these aren't even dirty because we wiped them out before the end of the school year", and she said back to me "they still look really nasty". I didn't sign up to play maid! And then everything I gave her suggestions on she in a nice way pretty much said no I'd rather do it my way. WELL I am just going to sit back and watch her realize how much she really did need to do stuff my way once school starts. This is her first year to teach and she has NO clean what is going to go on...unlike me who knows exactly what its going to be like! :)

Yesterday afternoon when she came back after her training she decided to do some things in the classroom as well. When I turned around to ask her a question I saw her wearing an apron! Can you say germaphobe! I mean how dirty does she really think she is going to get putting the stuff in the room away. I could already tell how this year is about to go when I saw her wearing that.

Today I went to go throw something away and happened to glance in the trash to find a ton of stickers thrown away. I started taking them out because I like to use them to reward my group of kids when they do good things and I found packages of stickers that had never been opened! What in the hell is wrong with that woman!

On Friday she asked me if I could take all of the books we have on our book shelf and put them into ABC order. Keep in mind we have hundreds of books on that shelf. When she asked me to do that I looked at the books and saw that she had taken all of the category tabs out of in between them and threw them away. I told her that the kids were never allowed to read these books on the shelf last year and that they were for the teachers to read to them. And they were put into categories so that if we were doing a farm theme for the week we would go to the farm animal category and pull a book to read to them. So I told her that is how we did it and she told me that she wanted all of those books to be apart of the reading center and that if they are in alphabetical order that the kids would grab a book and then look at the title and see what letter it starts with and then put the book back in the correct spot. This lady truly is an idiot. By the end of the year last year we were lucky with some of the kids if they could even recognize a letter and now she expects them to look at the title and put the book back in order!!! She has no freaking clue!

Okay well I am sure you are tired of hearing me complain, but I do have one more thing to say.

It is day 7 of our cleanse and all I know is that I miss eating real food. I am TIRED of salads and chicken.

peaceout.

Let the blogging begin...AGAIN!

No more being M.I.A!
It has been a week since I have been back in Midland and boy oh boy have I been busy!
A week ago from today my mom, Sara and I made the 8 hour drive back to good ole West Texas with a car FULL of wedding gifts! SO exciting!! It has been so fun having new plates, utensils and appliances instead of our old nasty college stuff!

During my moms stay here we unloaded all of the boxes that we brought up and went on a shopping spree for things to decorate our apartment with! We enjoyed having her here to see where we live and I know she just absolutely loved spending one of her vacations in Midland! :) I mean seriously who wouldn't love spending their vacation here? We were able to enjoy the sightseeing from a double decker bus where she saw cactus and tumbleweeds! JUST KIDDING...it's not like that here people and sadly we don't have double decker buses. :( Anyways what we really did do with her here was take her all around town so she got to see where we work and where we hope to buy a house one day! We also took her to a couple of our favorite restaurants and she even got to see the EXTREMELY nice part of Odessa where the millionaires live. No joke on that one...the houses we showed her are incredible and I wouldn't be surprised if most of them cost 15 million dollars!

Moms hotel style bed (minus the chocolate)

My flowers that Patty Poo bought me!

My new cross mom bought me for my birthday!

New decorations we bought for over the couch

Our place settings!

Our wine bar that I LOVE!

Tuesday I took her to the airport and that Patrick and I had to get to work and clean up the rest of the apartment! Having TONS and TONS of boxes to throw away we decided it would be easier to throw them over the balcony instead of walking up and down 3 flights of stairs. I must say I probably enjoyed this game more than him...as you can see below I was taking action shots of me tossing the boxes over to him!

Wednesday Patrick and I started our 10 day Advocare cleanse. And it started out being pretty easy UNTIL Saturday came. Of course the Texans played last night and we went over to Ryan and Sara's house to watch the game and grill out. What goes best with watching football and grilling out? BEER of course!!! It took everything in us to stay away from the beer aisle while we were grocery shopping. I don't think I have ever wanted a beer so bad and then to top it off Ryan pops one open in front of both of us at his house! Now that is just freaking wrong! We are now on day five and all I do is think about food and how much I can't wait to eat mexican food and have a dos equis when this is all over! Don't get me wrong this is actually a pretty easy cleanse it is just hard not to have what I want when I want it. But I guess after all this is why we are doing the cleanse...to lose weight! So although I would love in indulge on EVERYTHING I have been craving these past couple days when this is over I won't. Hopefully we can maintain all of the weight we lose once we are done with this.

Off to bed...gotta work tomorrow. blah.

I've still got it!

Today I went to go get the Tahoe inspected and of course it was busy so I had to sit and wait. Well there was only one bench for people to sit at and there was a Hispanic boy sitting there and I took a seat next to him. I knew right away he would probably start to make conversation with me and I was right. He asked out of the blue if I have any summer 2012 plans, so I told him I was going to Mexico next week and then I asked if was doing anything exciting just to be nice. He proceeded to tell me that he was taking summer school because he got into trouble over the course of the year that resulted in holding him back. That is when I found out that he was 18...19 in a month! Wahoo. Then he asked how old I was thinking I was in school and I told him my age and he acted shocked and then played the you look so much younger card. Anyways then I played on my cell phone trying to give the impression that I don't really care for this small talk anymore. :) Then finally his car was ready so he got up and at the time said it was nice meeting me shaking my hand and tell me his name was Cesar. THEN a couple minutes later he walks back up to me and asks for my number. I looked up at him and said "Why?" and he responded with "so we can keep in touch." Yummm I just met you do you think I care to "keep in touch." Umm no. Of course I said "no I don't want to give you my number" and so he smiled and walked away. Awkward. But oh yea I still have it...picking up the Midland riff raff!

TV Tuesday!

Finally my favorite shows are coming back on!
My most favorite of all is Pretty Little Liars!! If you have never watched that show rent the seasons. It is awesome and so addicting! After that is one of my new obsessions Jane by Design. I don't know if any of you watch Glee but you SHOULD! And tonight is the premiere of The Glee Project 2 where they go through various weeks of competition testing new "possible" actors to the show and I love it! It is on Oxygen and it is a great reality show to watch. Now that I have all this time off I feel like I don't have enough shows to watch which is rather annoying. But hopefully more and more of my summer shows will be starting soon!
